This pack contains 3 Products with 4 essential nutrients and cofactors for Vitamin D absorption:

It is designed to help improve absorption of Vitamin D and to prevent the Side Effects of Vitamin D that sometimes occur due to deficiencies of these critical nutrients.  Some people have a more difficult time with Vitamin D Absorption than others. This is usually because of serious deficiencies of several of the Vitamin D cofactors. The most common of which are Magnesium, Vitamin A and Vitamin K.

However, most people are unaware of the higher needs for these nutrients in order to absorb Vitamin D. And most multivitamin supplements do not contain adequate amounts of these nutrients to help absorption. Get this Vitamin D Absorption pack and be sure that you are getting enough of all the nutrients you need to absorb Vitamin D, and help to resolve any other subtle nutrient deficiencies you might have. See the page on Vitamin D Absorption for more info.

Vitamin D:  Vitamin D absorption is less of a problem than getting enough. People often take inadequate amounts of Vitamin D, then believe that they are having problems absorbing when their levels do not rise. This Vitamin D Supplement has 5000 IU’s of Vitamin D per capsule. Researchers recommend up to 10,000 IU’s per day to raise Vitamin D levels, then approximately 3800 to 5000 IU’s per day to maintain optimal levels. This Vitamin D makes getting enough just a matter of taking just one or two pills per day, for most people.

Vitamin K: Vitamin K is a nutrient frequently missing in our diets, and that it is critical in regulating calcium metabolism. It is also synergistic in helping to raise Vitamin D levels. Few supplements have ANY Vitamin K at all, and almost none have either the right kind or the right amount to be effective. After scouring the internet for a supplement with a full MILLIGRAM (1000 micrograms) dosage of Vitamin K2, the dose and form recommended by Dr. Gary Gordon and other well-educated doctors and researchers, this Life Extension product that also includes a full 5000 IU’s of Vitamin D was the only one that I could find!

Douglas Labs Chelated Magnesium

Magnesium: Magnesium is probably the most well-known supplement that needs to be present in relation to absorbing Vitamin D. With several medical case studies showing a rise in Vitamin D levels after taking magnesium in those previously resistant to increasing their Vitamin D levels, this one is a must. Additionally, magnesium deficiency has been called ‘epidemic’. Most multivitamins have inadequate amounts of magnesium to make any difference, and so a separate supplement is recommended for anyone resistant to their Vitamin D levels rising, at least until magnesium deficiency is resolved.

Vitamin A:  Vitamin A is another fat soluble Vitamin that ‘counterbalances’ Vitamin D. Without the proper Vitamin A/Vitamin D  ratio, one can not only have problems absorbing and converting Vitamin D, but could have many side effects. Many people having Vitamin D side effects have relieved them by taking Vitamin A. Unfortunately, most people don’t get enough Vitamin A, and most multivitamins contain the water-soluble vegetarian sourced Beta Carotene form. The animal-sourced retinol form of Vitamin A is required to offset Vitamin D. The multivitamin I recommend in the pack is Thorne Basic 2 per day Multivitamin, and it contains an adequate amount of Vitamin A in the retinol form, along with a boatload of trace minerals and vitamins as ‘insurance’ in case you are missing other critical micronutrients that may help with Vitamin D Absorption that we are as yet unaware of.
